HAWI6, our 6th form, is going from strength to strength. On a Friday afternoon, all HAWI6 students work on a project by volunteering and giving back to the community in some way. In this week’s article we are sharing the fantastic work that some students are doing with Sustainable Merton. We are very proud of all our Year 12s who participate fully in these programmes and ‘make a difference’ to those around them. The partnership with King’s College School (KCS) has enabled HAWI6 students to access additional opportunities such as attending talks on whether AI is transforming our society in a positive or negative way plus they will spend time working with KCS Year 12 students on their university applications in June. These leads me nicely into Year 11 who are currently doing their next set of mock exams and beginning to think about what they will do next year. Year 11 have shown a determined and mature attitude this week and they just need to keep this focus for the final mock papers next week.
Sport has had a successful week as the Year 7 boys’ football team are through to the next round of the Harris Cup and the Year 7/8 girls’ football team won the 6-a-side Merton tournament – well done to the girls! Next week, we will be celebrating World Book Day and students can dress up as their favourite book character on Thursday.
Best wishes for an enjoyable weekend, Mrs Larizadeh
