Sixth Form
HAWI6, as we are called for short, is an ambitious and exciting sixth form. Our teachers are experts in their subjects and passionate about equipping students with the combination of academic qualifications and wider skills and experience they need for success in their next steps.
Our sixth formers learn in a brand new, state-of-the-art building with modern facilities and resources. They are enthusiastic learners and our teachers know how to support them to achieve their best grades. But for us, great academic results must go hand-in-hand with a fun and stimulating enrichment programme; our calendar is teeming with performances, sport fixtures, speaker sessions, trips, clubs and societies.
‘Making a difference’ is a concept we live and breathe. Many of our students volunteer in the wider community, contributing their skills to benefit society. All are role models to children lower down the school and there are opportunities each term for sixth formers to take on positions of responsibility and develop their leadership skills.
Although our Sixth Form is still new, we are part of a thriving and hugely successful network of sixth forms at the Harris Federation where students obtain places at elite ‘Russell Group’ universities at more than twice the national rate. We work closely with the other sixth forms in this network, as well as through our partnership with King’s College School, and our students benefit from well-established careers guidance and university applications programmes.
