It has been an excellent week at HAWI!
The production of Matilda was outstanding and I was so proud to see so many students enjoying themselves and displaying such talent - well done to everyone involved! The Year 7 girls’ football team have also been busy and brought home a huge trophy for winning the Federation competition. They have shown how attending training every week and supporting each other brings success. The U15 boys’ football team have also won two fixtures beating Harris Academy Merton and Raynes Park High School.
Friday is our charity day and we are handing over the responsibility to Year 9. They have been working on raising awareness of lots of different charities. This charity day we are letting our Year 9s take over. They have been working on raising awareness of lots of different charities for their Duke of Edinburgh award. Therefore, we are asking students and staff to bring in donations and to get involved with the different events that will be running.
We will also be supporting Mr Maurice and Mr Walsh as they will be running the London Marathon in April and raising money for their charities: Macmillan & NSPCC.
Events taking place during the day:
• Mufti Day
• Bake Sale/Information Stalls - Please bring in any bought/ homemade goods to be sold at break.
• Food Donation - Bring in a food donation and receive a raffle ticket to win a prize
• Socks Donation - Good quality adult socks
• Penalty Shootout - 20p per penalty
