Happy New Year and welcome back to the Spring Term.
We are looking forward to an exciting and productive term ahead. The dates for your diary section contains all of the parents’ evenings for the term but we also have a number of other events: We welcome Hugh Bonneville on Tuesday 24th January who will be meeting students interested in a career on the stage or screen. The swimming gala on the 4th February and the Lower School disco on the 9 th February are firm favourites in our annual calendar. We have secured some tickets to watch Hamilton at the Victoria Palace Theatre for a rewards trip and have our own production of Matilda on the 15th and 16th March. We are hosting a University Challenge competition for academies in the Federation and finish the term with Deep Learning days. We have an Apprenticeship Day on Monday 6 th February and our Future Aspirations week from the 13th - 17th March. We are hosting a Mental Health conference with King’s College Wimbledon in February and have our own Pastoral evening for parents on the 2nd February.
Let’s not forget that this term is also very much about hard work in the classroom - Year 11 have about 70 school days until their first GCSE exam and Years 7 and 9 have assessments next week.
We have had more applications than spaces for HAWI6, our new 6 th form opening in September 2023- remember current students automatically get a place if they meet the entry requirements and make an application - if your child is in Year 11 and hasn’t made an application, then ensure they do it as soon as possible.
So a typically busy term at HAWI!
I hope you have a relaxing weekend, Mrs Larizadeh
