This week we have been celebrating Mental Health Awareness Week. The theme this year was ‘Movement’! Assemblies focussed on the importance of movement and students heard the inspiring story of Curtis McGrath, who after becoming a bilateral amputee, went on to become a 2x Paralympian in Sprint Canoe. Curtis says that it was exercise that saved his life.
Students then took part in our ‘Wear it Green’ day to raise awareness about Mental Health and the importance of talking about it openly. We also had a House competition to see who could stand on one leg the longest. This was a highly contested competition with students still standing on one leg at the end of Tutor time and not wanting to put their foot down. However, the winner came from 7 Wilberforce. Congratulations to Dexter who would probably still be standing on one leg now if he had been allowed!
Best wishes for an enjoyable weekend,
