For World Book Day, Harris Academy Wimbledon celebrated books and stories through a range of activities across the week!

On Monday, students tested their knowledge of Harry Potter and The Hunger Games with crosswords and word search puzzles!

We were lucky enough to be visited by bestselling author Ross Welford on Tuesday, known for writing books such as “The Kid who Came from Space” and “Time Traveling with a Hamster”. He showed us magic, helped us to write a story and showed us the importance of celebrating books and reading! The students absolutely loved it!

Wednesday was House Competition! Students proudly represented their Houses and answered challenging questions about books and mangas. (The winning House will be announced soon!)

On Friday, students wowed us with their World Book Day costumes! It was amazing to see so many characters come to life in our school. We finished the week with a fun game of Guess Who: literary characters in the library.

Teachers were also involved in the celebration: many thanks to the Masked Readers who have promoted books and reading along the week!
