Today we had our Black History Month Celebration day and were treated to an excellent lunch by our catering staff. The celebrations included music and dancing from both students staff – it was a great day and a reflection of our outstanding community spirit.
This week we had 6 students stand for Head Student and Deputy Head Student roles. They delivered speeches to all the students who subsequently voted for who they would like to be their leaders – all of the candidates had clearly spent a significant amount of time writing their speeches and they were very impressive. The votes are being counted and the results will be announced next week.
We are really looking forward to our 6th form open evening on Tuesday at 5.30pm. If you would like to attend, all of the information is on the website. We will offer 21 different A levels and will work in partnership with King’s College School to deliver an outstanding curriculum with enrichment and support for university applications.
Thank you for supporting the parents’ association events last year. I am really pleased to let you know that through all of your efforts, the parents’ association have donated £1500 to the academy for additional sports equipment. Basketball hoops in the playground are at the top of the list but in the coming weeks, we will let you know what else we have purchased.
Thank you for your continued support.
Have a lovely weekend,
Mrs Larizadeh
