Energy, fun and enthusiasm has been at the centre of HAWI this week as everyone participated in outdoor activity week. Students have been spread around different geographical areas including Wales, Dorset, Box Hill, Whitstable, Surrey and Kew Gardens. It has been a pleasure to talk to the students about their experiences and especially nice to hear so many students say how much they have enjoyed them. I think one of my favourites has to be from a Year 9 boy returning from the Duke of Edinburgh expedition saying it had been his ‘best two days ever!’.
Of course, these opportunities only happen because the staff devote time and energy in planning them and then lead, support and encourage everyone to have a good time. I hope you will join me in thanking them for ‘making a difference’ and always going the extra mile. Next week, we are back to normal routines with still a lot of work to complete in lessons until the end of term. The hard work in lessons will continue to be peppered with other opportunities such as Sport Day, Honours Evening and Reward Trips.
Thank you for your support in ensuring you child had all the equipment they needed for this week. I wish you a relaxing and enjoyable weekend.
